A "quick" answer is that what you have done is absolutely NOT a logistic regression. Therefore, looking for references on logistic regression is likely a useless effort.
I would suggest using a true logistic regression, possibly with over-dispersion, as a starting point (not necessarily an end point) for analyzing your data.
