Data and Information Visualization in Today's Multimedia Society

Venue: Jacobs University Bremen, Germany
The meeting follows the spirit of previous workshops in this field and intends to bring together researchers from statistics, computer science and related fields. The symposium is also envisaged as a platform to foster links between various research groups and in particular welcomes contributions by young researchers. The plan is to enrich the scientific presentations with ample time for group and individual discussions, for software demonstrations and data explorations.
The main focus will be on:
# Information visualization;
# Interactive statistical graphics;
# Visual perception, techniques and strategies for improving visual communication;
# Use and misuse of quantitative information representation in mass communication.
Contributions on recent research results and software developments on all aspects of statistical data and information visualization are welcome. The proceedings of peer-reviewed articles of workshop participants will be published in a special issue of the Springer journal on Computational Statistics.
The number of participants is limited to 40. Researchers interested in participating should contact a.wilhelm@jacobs-university.de.
